The service

The Familiar Basket is a personal shopping service. We buy the items on your confirmed quote from UK shops on your behalf, pack them and arrange door-to-door delivery to Ghana. Prices are in pounds sterling.

Quotes and payment

Your quote is valid for 48 hours. Work starts once your payment has arrived in full. The quote includes a 10% buffer against price changes, refunded if unused.

Availability and substitutes

If an item is unavailable we will tell you and, where you agree, buy a suitable substitute at no more than the quoted price, or refund the item.

Final bill

After packing you receive a final bill for any difference from the quote, usually a refund. Any amount due is payable within 24 hours. If it is not paid, we ship the boxes already paid for, packed with as many of your items as fit in the order you listed them; items that do not fit are returned to the shop and their value refunded. The service charge is not refundable.

Items we cannot ship

Medicines, flammables, items containing lithium batteries, and fresh, chilled or frozen food.

Delivery

Boxes are delivered door to door in Ghana with duty and clearance included. Delivery times are estimates and depend on the courier and customs.
